Getting There
By Air

The primary airports serving Uttarakhand are Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport and Pantnagar Airport. Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun) is well connected to Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, and other major cities. It is the main entry point for Garhwal destinations like Mussoorie, Rishikesh, and Auli. Pantnagar Airport is ideal for those exploring the Kumaon region such as Nainital, Jim Corbett, or Almora. It’s around 71 km from Kathgodam, the major rail hub.

By Rail

Uttarakhand has decent rail connectivity via: Haridwar Junction (gateway to Garhwal) Kathgodam Railway Station (gateway to Kumaon) These are well connected to Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, and other cities. Regular trains operate from New Delhi Railway Station to both Haridwar and Kathgodam.

By Road

Uttarakhand is easily accessible by road from neighbouring states. From Delhi: Overnight Volvo and state-run buses to Haridwar, Rishikesh, Dehradun, Nainital, and Haldwani. Self-drive or taxis: Key national highways provide connectivity to major towns. For Garhwal, routes from Delhi often involve NH-334. NH-109 is a crucial highway for reaching Kumaon. It's best to use online maps for the most up-to-date route information. Roads are scenic but mountainous—travel during daylight and avoid monsoon months for safer drives
